training

A 3-4 year residency-training program exists, that has the capacity to train 2-3 new resident doctors each year (Mercy Medical Center Cambodia).

As of 2016, there are 4990 doctors registered with the council (Amaro, Yesenia, 2016). There are a total of 18596 health professionals working in public clinics, out of which 2000 are general medical practitioners (Amaro, Yesenia, 2016).  There are 11 registered medical schools, but many don’t have basic resources for hands-on training (Amaro, Yesenia, 2016).
