The first pilot program implemented to train family doctors emerged in 1996 (. A 2-4-year college degree is required at some institutions to pursue a medical school education (S.Tentishev Asian Medical Institute, 2018). Post-secondary education can range from 5 to 6 years, depending on the type of degree that is desired (Hardison et al., 2007). A 2-year residency program exists at the S. Tentishev Asian Medical Institute (S.Tentishev Asian Medical Institute, 2018). No other comprehensive data was found on Kyrgyzstan through an online scope or literature review. The initial literature scope was done to collect data from online sources, such as, medical school websites and the WHO website. The literature review was done to collect data from papers retrieved using Google, Google Scholar, PubMed, and Web of Science. No key informants were obtained to help verify or obtain information.
